this album’s been a long time coming; I finished this one in october of 2021 but i’ve been noodling with it for almost eight months now. i’d had fire emblem on my mind, between three houses and heroes. the working album title, corrin type beats, was for my main L!Corrin in heroes. i keep having thoughts of finding other vocals or samples to put over these tracks, but nothing seems to be sticking; their current forms seem to be the most happy. i have some really strong darkseed 2 samples that didn’t quite work out, i might use them in a future project.

in terms of music, i wanted something that felt very rhythmically simple and driven, something that would get you in a trance-type state of being while you zone out and meditate. i wanted simple organs, simple keyboards, walking basslines, and strong drums. the samples all come from an online lecture series, it’s either harvard or mit, i forget. i’ll look it up if anybody wants to know.

i’ve since uninstalled heroes and i’ve sworn it off, since it’s kept me awake way too long too many nights, but the inspiration is still there. i circled back a little bit to three houses, and i’m excited for three hopes to come out. that’ll be more of my style of gameplay.
