album art - my guild wars assassin over the guild wars UI.

i bought myself the korg gadget for xmas since it was on sale for 50% off. this is my first project using it, and it’s only using the gadget, nothing else. i did have to spend about 10x what the gadget cost me on equipment to record off of the gadget, but it was worth it. i’m very excited to use the scarlett 2i2 to get some guitars and bass on my future tracks.

as for the music itself, i was most inspired by discovering the synth from the policenauts / metal gear solid 1 intro theme. it’s in tracks 2 through 5 of this album, it’s the one that sounds like human vocals.

the drum machines were fun to play with too, i never would have picked the samples but i had a very limited palette and i was happy to have been forced outside of my comfort zone.

i had made 8 tracks originally for this but i cut the three bad ones instead of trying to fix them. i might release a b-side package at some point because i’m queuing up a lot of them, but they’re unreleased for a reason so maybe not. i also had a different project planned that is still unreleased. it’s at an unhappy creative stalemate right now but i hope i can rescue it from this purgatory since it has good ideas.

for the art, i’ve been playing a ton of guild wars recently after discovering an old hard drive. the nostalgia trip is great so i dedicated the art and title to this silly nostalgia trip.
